The Board

The Board sets the strategic direction of LAML and is responsible for all aspects of the company's operation. Under the articles of association of LAML there must be between 5 and 11 directors, a majority of whom must be representatives of the member authorities. The Chairman is drawn from the directors representing member authorities.

The Current Board

Nathan Elvery (Chairman)

Nathan is Director of Finance and Resources at the London Borough of Croydon, a position he has held since August 2004. Immediately prior to that he was Assistant Director - Finance and Business Management at Westminster City Council. Nathan is Chairman of LAML.

Gerald Almeroth

Gerald is Acting Director of Finance at the London Borough of Haringey. Prior to joining Haringey in July 2002 he was Head of Finance and Business Services at Westminster City Council. Gerald chairs the Audit Committee of LAML.

Mike Curtis

Mike is Director of Finance at the London Borough of Islington, a position he has held since March 2006. Immediately prior to that he was Assistant Director of Adult Care Services (Resources) at Hertfordshire County Council.

Mike O'Donnell

Mike is Director of Finance at the London Borough of Camden, a position he has held since October 2005. Immediately prior to that he was Director of Finance of Swindon Borough Council.

Michael Payton

Mike is senior partner of Clyde & Co. In his professional career Michael has acted in the main for insurers and reinsurers including such high-profile cases as Piper Alpha, the invasion of Kuwait, the collapse of US Savings and Loans Banks and pollution cases following the break up of the Exxon Valdez. Michael is an Independent Director of LAML.

Lord Remnant CVO

Lord Remnant trained as an accountant. In a distinguished city career he has been Chief Executive and Chairman of Touche Remnant. In addition he has been a Director of the Bank of Scotland, Deputy Chairman of the Australia and New Zealand Bank, Deputy Chairman of Ultramar, Chairman of National Provident Institution (a mutual life insurance company), Chairman of the Association of Investment Companies and of the Institutional Shareholders' Committee and a member of the Takeover Panel. Lord Remnant is an Independent Director of LAML and currently a Director of the Livery Companies' Mutual and a Court member of the Salters' Company.

Mike Suarez

Mike is Executive Director of Finance and Resources at the London Borough of Lambeth, a position he has held since September 2005. Immediately prior to that he was Strategic Director of Finance and Property at Slough Borough Council.

Myfanwy Barrett

Myfanwy is Director of Financial and Business Strategy at the London Borough of Harrow, a position she has held since March 2004. Prior to that, she was Head of Core Finance at the Greater London Authority.
